Elisabeth Wade Hitchcock ’27 is living in Florida. She is recently widowed after being married for 25 years. She is still active and still drives! Edwin Estle ’28 sadly reports that his sister Grace died August 25 in New Hampshire.
Phyllis (Barkin) Ribner '29, celebrated her 88th birthday this year! She enjoys auditing courses at Fairfield University and wishes the best of luck to Brookline High!
Florence (Keywood) Whelpley '28, is glad to know there are alumni older than she (at 88) who are still active and enjoying life! Marion (O'Neil) Walker '29, and sister Ruth Towers '31, are living in Chatham, MA. They are both finally retired at the ages of 87 and 85. Sadly, we hear from her sister that Barbara Wallace '29, died in July 1999. Our condolences to her family.
Rita (Christie) Velleman '27, is living in West Palm Beach, FL, and remembers her times at BHS as being the best days of her youth. Bette (Wade) Hitchcock '27, is living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This summer she traveled to Arizona, Tennessee and Boston. Bette has spent the last 22 years as a volunteer at the Westaide Regional Medical Center. She is also an amateur state shuffleboard champion. She has one daughter, four grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Phyllis Barkin Ribner '29, is eager to hear from any 1929
graduates. Phyllis is living in Fairfield, CT. Marion Walker '29, is
still working for the Chatham Conservation Foundation. She sends her
appreciation for all of her great math, English and Latin teachers at
BHS!
Peggy Varnum '25 recently celebrated her 90th birthday party with
her six children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Peg
still lives in Brookline and enjoys driving her new car and her weekly
bowling league.
Elizabeth (Wade) Hitchcock, '27, is living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Marion (O'Neil) Walker, '29, and her sister, Ruth B. (O'Neil) Towers,
'31, are both still working part time, despite being in their 80's.
Both run computers-Marion with the Chatham Conservation Foundation and
Ruth with a church in Harwich Port.
